Pelosi: 'We Won Last Night'

I'm worried about Nancy Pelosi.

She seems to be disconnected, out of touch with reality.

From Politico:

Most House Democrats tried to put a good face on Tuesday's election results, saying they picked up two more votes for a sweeping health care bill that could be on the floor as early as Friday.

...Of course, the speaker, who told Politico recently she's "not big on showing weakness," brushed aside questions about how the election results would impact her final tally and instead trumped the two special election wins.

"From our perspective we won last night," Pelosi told reporters during a Wednesday morning photo opportunity. "We had one race that we were engaged in, it was in northern New York, it was a race where a Republican has held the seat since the Civil War and we won that seat, so from our standpoint, no, a candidate was victorious who supports health care reform, and his remarks last night said this was a victory for health care reform and other initiatives for the American people."

"So from our standpoint we picked up votes last night," a cheerful Pelosi said, "one in California and one in New York."

How does Pelosi define "we"?

"WE had one race that we were engaged in, it was in northern New York...."

I guess Pelosi doesn't include Obama in her definition of "WE."

Obama was all over Virginia and New Jersey. He couldn't have been more engaged in the New Jersey race.

It's absolutely ridiculous for Pelosi to say "WE had one race that we were engaged in."

It's loony to dismiss the crushing defeats of Democrats last night. Pelosi is not embracing reality.

There's spin and then there's delusion.

Pelosi doesn't appear to be spinning. I think the woman is delusional.

She's either clinically delusional or a really terrible politician.
