It looks like there will be vote on ObamaCare on Saturday.
WASHINGTON (AP) -- Capping months of months of struggle, House Democrats cleared an abortion-related impasse blocking a vote on sweeping health care legislation late Friday and officials expressed optimism they had finally lined up the support needed to pass President Barack Obama's top domestic priority.
A vote was expected on the legislation on Saturday, after Obama's scheduled midmorning trip to the Capitol complex to make one final pitch for its approval. The bill is designed to spread coverage to tens of millions who now lack it and ban insurance industry practices such as denying coverage on the basis of pre-existing medical conditions.
Under the arrangement, Reps. Bart Stupak of Michigan, Brad Ellsworth of Indiana and other abortion opponents were promised an opportunity to insert tougher restrictions into the legislation during debate on the House floor.
The leadership's hope is that no matter how that vote turns out, Democrats on both sides of the abortion divide will then unite to give the health care bill a majority over unanimous Republican opposition.
The plan emerged from hours of meetings presided over by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and involving lawmakers on both sides of the abortion issue and officials from the U.S. Conference on Catholic Bishops.
Bart Stupak and his buddies are playing games.
The deal is a sham.
They're just engaged in CYA, a political dance.
They know that tougher abortion restrictions won't make it in the bill.
If Democrats like Stupak think that a meaningless vote will pacify their constituents, I think they're mistaken.
These spineless Dems obviously fear the wrath of Nancy Pelosi and Obama's henchmen more than they care about the people they represent.
Saturday could be a very dark day for the country.

Hey Blue Dogs... are you seriously willing to end your political career for Nancy Pelosi?
WHY?
What's in it for you... and your constituents? Hard to imagine why anyone would allow themselves to be hectored into taking-one-for-the-team and incurring the wrath of the nation... when this arrogant socialist twit wouldn't spit on you if your hair was on fire.
NOW is the time to KILL this pig- there's no future in backing Obama's radical plans anymore.
Vote for this highly unpopular bill at your peril... as SanFranNan will leave you twisting-in-the-wind next fall, of that you can be sure.
