Lawrence O'Donnell: Bush Invited 9/11 Attack

Lawrence O'Donnell has flipped out once again.

The man is crazed.

For pure entertainment, nothing beats O'Donnell's totally unhinged "creepy liar" meltdown of 2004. But he does bring a certain passion to all his lunacy that makes his deranged episodes interesting, albeit somewhat frightening, to watch.

The most recent O'Donnell eruption occurred on MSNBC's Morning Joe today.

O'Donnell went nuts on former speechwriter for President George W. Bush, Marc Thiessen.

In his familiar foaming at the mouth, finger-wagging style, O'Donnell attacks.

He spits and yells. He gets so out of control and so angry. It's scary. He embarrasses himself. He brings shame to like-minded Leftist radicals.

Transcript

LAWRENCE O'DONNELL: Well, you're lying about the West coast thing. That's been covered very clearly. But you actually, as a former speechwriter in the White House, you took an oath of office when you took that job, that you might or might not remember. You actually published a book that says that the president of the United States, on its title, the president is inviting the next attack.

Isn't it true that the president you worked for invited the first attack by having no idea what was going on with al Qaeda? You just admitted that when you were hit on 9/11, you just said, 'We didn't know who hit us.' You said, 'We didn't know who hit us.' You were told who was going to hit us before we were hit on 9/11. And your administration invited the first attack, for which you should live in shame.

O'Donnell went so crazy that Scarborough interrupted and went to break, announcing that he would be interviewing Thiessen by himself when they returned.

After commercial break, Scarborough began with talk about how important it is to "balance the meds just right." He said, "Thank God we pre-tape the show."

Scarborough laid out the rules. O'Donnell was allowed to remain but told he couldn't speak until the end of the interview. He would receive 30 seconds to comment, then Thiessen would receive 30 seconds to respond.

O'Donnell didn't live up to his promise. He tried to interject but Scarborough maintained control.

When O'Donnell did get his 30 seconds, he spewed his trademark vitriol.

O'DONNELL: Marc, I'm wondering about your own personal experience with torture. I know you grew up in the richest zip code in America, in the upper East side. You went to the only boarding school in Connecticut that I know of that has a golf course, as well as two skating rinks. And then you went to Vassar, and of course like all the torture-mongers in the White House, the Cheney family included, you never served a day in the military, never considered that.

Well, I'm wondering with that background, what is it that gives you an expertise in torture? What makes you love it so much?

O'Donnell is such a hate-filled individual. He's a disgrace.

Marc Thiessen's book is excellent!

Well, you're lying about the West coast thing. That's been covered very clearly.

Actually, what covers it very clearly is Thiessen's book.

Usually when O'Donnell flips out to this extent, it's because he finds what the person has to say very threatening.

O'Donnell obviously can't handle Thiessen's book.

Sounds like a worthwhile read.
