CBS obtained some hateful messages Bart Stupak has received since he made a very bad deal with Obama and Nancy Pelosi and others regarding the abortion language in the Senate's health care bill that became the law of the land on Tuesday.
I wonder if CBS went looking for the recordings or if Stupak delivered them himself.
Either way, they're horrible messages.
From The Hill:
Rep. Bart Stupak (D-Mich.) has received several hate-filled phone messages from people angry about his decision to cut a deal with the White House on abortion funding.
The anti-abortion rights lawmaker reached an accord with the White House this weekend, agreeing to support the Democrats' healthcare reform measure if President Barack Obama signed an executive order reinforcing existing laws that ban federal funds for abortion services.
"I hope you die," says one message.
"Go to hell, you piece of s***," says another.
Stupak's deal angered some opponents of abortion rights who believe that the order will not prevent federal dollars for abortion services under the healthcare law.
Those sort of statements can be found directed at liberals and conservatives alike on discussion forums all over the Internet.
It's disgusting, but not shocking.
I've received hate messages like that. I've had threats against me and my family.
Of course, the ones I get are written, but they're just as bad.
We live in a society with some really sick people. That's not exactly breaking news.
I wonder if CBS would like to do a story on the hate messages I get.
Audio.

Remember Stupak was getting the same sort of harassment prior to his betrayal.
Right. He mentioned in it at his news conference when he announced his support for ObamaCare.
