Jerome Listecki and Mike Jacobs

Mike Jacobs' interview with Jerome Listecki aired on Wednesday night on TMJ4.

Video of the report here.

As with Jacobs' report on Tuesday night, an interview with Steven Geier, a clergy abuse victim, I have a problem with what Jacobs implied about the Archbishop.

Transcript

MIKE JACOBS: Now to a Today's TMJ4 exclusive. The Milwaukee Archbishop apologizes!

Last night at 10:00, we shared the story of Steven Geier. He was one of 200 boys abused by a priest at St. John's School for the Deaf. Tonight, the Archbishop apolgizes to the victim and has harsh words for the priest.

(Begin taped report)

Archbishop Jerome Listecki dropped a bombshell. He agreed to watch our entire interview with Steve Geier, a man who was abused by Fr. Lawrence Murphy when Geier was a boy.

WHAT?

Agreeing to watch an interview is not "dropping a bombshell."

A bombshell?

Jacobs is really giving a wrong impression of Listecki.

Is it that Jacobs is so ignorant? Is it that he's intentionally sensationalizing his exclusive?

Either way, it's bad. It's poor journalism.
