Netanyahu: The Flotilla and the UN

It's Israel versus the world.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu explained to reporters:

"This was not a love boat, this was a boat of hate."

From Bloomberg:
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said criticism of Israel’s raid against a Gaza aid shipment that left nine dead was “hypocrisy,” after the United Nations Human Rights Council voted to authorize an international probe.

“Israel is told it has the right to defend itself, but when we do exercise that right we’re condemned for it,” Netanyahu said in a nationally televised address in Jerusalem. “Israel should not be held to a double standard.”

The Geneva-based council adopted the resolution today by a 32-3 vote, with nine abstentions. The U.S., Netherlands and Italy voted against the measure. The resolution said the council “decides to dispatch an independent international fact-finding mission to investigate violations of international law.”

...“Our responsibility is to examine every ship going to Gaza, to stop the weapons and to let other cargo enter,” Netanyahu said today. “If we don’t do that the result is going to be an Iranian port in Gaza.”

Video.
idfnadesk: In footage captured on the Mavi Marmara, activists are seen attacking the soldiers with a stun grenade, a box of plates, and water hoses as the soldiers attempt to board the ship. the activists are also waiving around metal rods and chains later used to attack the soldiers with. The IDF soldiers were armed with paint ball guns (used for riot dispersal) and pistols which they were ordered to use only as a last resort.
