Obama: 'I Can't Suck It Up With a Straw'

"Daddy, did you plug the hole yet?"

No.

"Daddy, did you suck up the oil with a straw yet?"

No?

Did you know that cleaning the oil from the Gulf of Mexico cannot be done by Obama sucking it up with a straw?

Darn! Too bad that option is off the table!

Last week when he was in Louisiana, Obama told locals, "I can't suck it up with a straw."

With all due respect, that is such a stupid thing to say.

From ABC News:

ABC News' Sunlen Miller reports: While visiting with Louisianan residents last week during his trip to Grand Isle, President Obama expressed a little frustration that he was not able to plug to hole still spewing oil in the Gulf by himself.

“Even though I am President of the United States my powers are not limitless,” Obama said last Friday at Camardelle’s Live Bait and Boiled Seafood, “So I can’t dive down there and plug the hole. I can’t suck it up with a straw. All I can do is make sure that I put honest, hardworking, smart people in place.”

...“I will do everything in my power to do right by you guys. And everybody along the coast,” the president promises the residents, seated around a table, in the video.

OBAMA: I will do everything in my power to do right by you guys, and everybody along the coast. Even though I'm president of the United States, my power is not limitless. So, I can't dive down there and plug the hole. I can't suck it up with a straw. All I can do is make sure that I put honest, hard-working, smart people in place like Thad to implement that.

That is so lame. It's so condescending.

Obama would be wise to just shut up.
