Rachel Maddow was Jay Leno's guest on The Tonight Show Wednesday.
Leno has really lurched to the Left.
Of course, Maddow offered her usual drivel. I expected that. But what I found especially annoying were Leno's remarks. He said absolutely idiotic things during the segment.
Naturally, they talked about the oil spill in the Gulf. It dominated their discussion.
Maddow gave her long spiel about the spill, with Leno jumping in here and there.
This comment from Leno drove me nuts.
JAY LENO: And you know, we have hundreds of thousands of troops protecting oil over there. Why can't we get some of them here, you know, to clean this mess up? I mean, this is as bad as any terrorist attack could ever be.
RACHEL MADDOW: Yeah.
Good Lord.
Leno thinks the troops are in Afghanistan and Iraq to protect oil? That's why they were sent there? Really?
He wants the troops redeployed to the Gulf to clean up the oil spill?
Unbelievable.
Then, Leno has the audacity to say that the oil spill is "as bad as any terrorist attack could ever be."
What's happening in the Gulf is a catastrophe. No question about it. But to suggest that it's as bad as ANY terrorist attack could ever be is ridiculous.
Does Leno remember how many people were killed in the 9/11 attacks?
Does he ponder the possibility of terrorists getting their hands on nuclear weapons or biological weapons or chemical weapons and using them in a densely populated area?
Wouldn't such an attack be worse than the oil spill?
Leno has changed. He's getting more and more like the extremely liberal, Right-hating Letterman.
Maddow and Leno also talked about Tuesday's primaries. Again, Leno sounded like a fool.
LENO: See to me, because now, if you want to run as a Republican, you have to say, 'I hate immigrants. I want to do this. I want to do that,' even if you don't believe it you have to say it.... And I hate that people have to lie just to get the nomination.
That's right. To get nominated, Republicans say, "I hate immigrants." Sure. That's what they do.
What a horrible, completely bogus statement!
Leno isn't bothering to keep his political leanings under wraps anymore. He's no longer a closet liberal. He's out.
Video.
