Pelosi: Investigate Opposition to Ground Zero Mosque

Juxtapose Keith Olbermann's faux dramatic drivel with Nancy Pelosi's assertion that opposition to the mosque at Ground Zero needs to be investigated.



"They came first for the communists and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a communist. Then they came for the trade unionists and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist. Then they came for the Jews and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew. And then they came for me and by that time, no one was left to speak up."

On Monday’s Countdown show, MSNBC host Keith Olbermann delivered a "Special Comment" in which he invoked Nazi Germany and suggested that blocking construction of a mosque near Ground Zero could be the first of a "thousand steps" toward another holocaust.

...After starting his "Special Comment" by quoting Pastor Martin Niemoller’s famous words about the Holocaust of World War II, he at first tried to make his rant sound more moderate as he contended that, "I make no direct comparison between the attempts to suppress the building of a Muslim religious center in downtown Manhattan and the unimaginable nightmare of the Holocaust." He added: "Such a comparison is ludicrous – at least, it is now."

But the Countdown host was still alarmist enough to fear the mosque controversy could lead in that horrific direction: "Niemoller was not warning of the Holocaust. He was warning of the thousand steps before a holocaust became inevitable. If we are at merely the first of those steps again today, it is one step too close."

While Leftists like Olbermann rant about the crumbling of the values and principles of our nation, Leftist Nancy Pelosi is calling for an investigation of those exercising their right to free speech.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, California Democrat, called for an investigation of those who are protesting the building of the Ground Zero Mosque on Tuesday. She told San Francisco's KCBS radio:

"There is no question there is a concerted effort to make this a political issue by some. And I join those who have called for looking into how is this opposition to the mosque being funded," she said. "How is this being ginned up that here we are talking about Treasure Island, something we've been working on for decades, something of great interest to our community as we go forward to an election about the future of our country and two of the first three questions are about a zoning issue in New York City." Calls to investigate the funding for those proposing the $100 million "Cordoba House" have fallen on deaf ears, though, as New York's Mayor Mike Bloomberg has described such an investigation as "un-American."

The Leftists are flailing, just like last summer at this time.

Last August, Pelosi was equating Americans at town hall meetings expressing their opposition to ObamaCare with Nazis.

This August, as Olbermann has the audacity to suggest that Americans in opposition to the mosque at Ground Zero are taking steps toward another Holocaust, Pelosi calls for an investigation into the opponents of the mosque.

Once again, the Left is doing what it does best -- besmirching the American people.

What's next? Will the Leftists demand to see the papers of the mosque protesters?
