Al Harris, Thank You

Al Harris, former Green Bay Packer, is truly a class act.

From the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:

In a classy and touching move, former Green Bay Packer cornerback Al Harris thanked Packer fans for supporting him during his years with the Green and Gold in an advertisement in Sunday's Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

In the ad, which appears on the back page of Sunday's Sports section, Harris thanks the "Packer Nation" for making his experience in Green Bay "simply amazing."

"Thank you for making one of the coldest places the warmest place," Harris' note says in part.

Harris, who spent seven seasons with the Packers, was released from the team on Nov. 8, nearly a year after suffering a major knee injury. That was the same day in which his time on the physically unable to perform list was to expire.

Harris, who was acquired from Philadelphia in a 2003 trade by then general manager Mike Sherman, started 102 regular-season games with the Packers, missing just 10 games over his seven years dating to the start of this season.

...After being released by the Packers, Harris was picked up by the Miami Dolphins.

Here's the text of the ad:

Thank you for always supporting me.

Thank you for making me part of your family.

Thank you for treating my family like your own.

Thank you for making one of the coldest places the warmest.

Thank you for making every single day I was a Packer a very special day.

To each and every one of you, thank you for making my Packers experience simply amazing.

From the bottom of my heart, I thank and love you all and will carry you with me always.

Love,
Al Harris

What a gracious way for Al Harris to end his time in Green Bay!

He's an excellent role model.
