Takashi Saito is joining the Brewers.
Japanese free agent reliever Takashi Saito said Tuesday that he has agreed to a one-year contract with the Milwaukee Brewers.
"I received offers from multiple teams, and I chose the Brewers because they worked really hard to lure me in," Saito said through his management office following U.S. media reports on the two sides' agreement.
"I've wanted to play for a team that really needs me."
According to the online edition of Fox Sports, Saito is expected to earn close to his $3.2 million salary from last season.
...The Brewers, who finished third in the NL Central last season with a 77-85 record, earlier bolstered their rotation by acquiring Shaun Marcum from the Toronto Blue Jays and Zack Greinke from the Kansas City Royals.

Amazing, isn't it? $3.2 million - based on the Brewers 2010 attendance (2.776 million) each fan contributed $1.15 to just that one player's salary.
