Ted Williams and Jimmy Fallon

Ted Williams went from being homeless to being an Internet sensation to being the official voice of Kraft Macaroni and Cheese.

He told his story last night on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

In addition to assorted gigs with the Cleveland Cavs and MSNBC (Mr. Williams was also on MSNBC last night reading part of the Constitution that the GOP omitted in their ceremonial reading in the House of Representatives). Often you post items on this blog without comment - as if waiting for someone to leave a note before sounding off with your opinion or position like a sniper picking off targets. So I'm curious - what's your take on the story?

You know damn well that I "sound off" on my blog.

I write what I feel like writing and when I feel like writing. There's no positioning "like a sniper." Good grief. That's insulting, completely unwarranted.

Sometimes, it's very late and I'm very tired and I decide to just share a video or a story without personal comment. There's nothing sinister about that.

My take on this story: I'm glad Williams is the official voice of Kraft Mac and Cheese. I'm glad that his talent has been recognized. I'm happy that his life has changed overnight.

America is a great country.

Mary: my, my, such thin skin when YOU'RE critiqued. The question was fairly innocent: "...what's your take on the story?". You can dish it out but when asked about your opinion, BAM, you go off the deep end. While occasionally you present posts of interest, I find myself accessing your "blog" less and less often because of the content. Some topics you dwell upon are timely and mainstream, but more often you focus on amazingly shallow pieces (like the late-night insomniac chuckle-head highlights from Fallon, Leno & Letterman, or the CNN holiday puff-piece: a reporters diet from Hawaii). However, the "sniper comment" was based on fact and past experience - a simple review of 2-months worth of your postings clearly illustrate the point. Besides the offensive text and language often used in your original posts here's a summary of follow-up-comments you made to me which were, comparatively speaking, fairly aggressive, certainly more aggressive than my question "...what's your take on the story?":

November 21:
Mary: To my knowledge, Maddow didn't make a retraction.
(A Maddow retraction was unnecessary - you twisted what she said.)

November 23:
Mary: (multiple responses) You're wrong. Do some research on Medicare and nursing home coverage....I'm not wrong about Medicare coverage for nursing home care....Nursing home costs are covered by Medicare. Clear?
(Mike responded with "no, it's not clear" explanation, with weblink to substantiate that Mary was not accurate in her statements.)

December 2:
(example of sniper fire)
Mary: Apparently you support "don't ask, don't tell."

December 5:
Mary: All this whining about Republican obstructionism is ridiculous.
(whining?)

December 12:
Mary: I do think the Leftists are getting fed up with Obama's shtick. They realize that they were duped.
(Leftists, shtick, duped?)

December 13:
Mary: You have no credibility if you diss Palin and Bush for their mistakes but cut Obama slack.
(No credibility? You're the one who brought Pres. Bush into the discussion - my comments were clear: "the microscope is massive" - I am sympathetic to the hyper-critical scrutiny of all US Presidents.)

December 14:
Mary: I'm not confusing the issue. Lighten up, buddy.
(Lighten up? What...you wish to arbitrate how readers respond to your postings? We are obviously not buddies, tho on several occasions I posted friendly, cheerful, respectful comments.)

December 22:
(multiple comments under pseudonym)
Mary: Mike Dawson is free to join the real world any time he chooses. But then, no one is keeping him from remaining in fantasy land either. Your arguments are at the very least, grossly obtuse and at worst, disingenuous. We all know it and see it. Move along....So grossly obtuse it is, Mike. Congrats.

As a blogger myself I find it amazing when another writer seeks only like-minded comments and feedback. As I stated several weeks ago, I mistakenly assumed you knew what you were talking/writing about. I was mistaken. See ya' around.

I don't have a thin skin. I don't think it's being too sensitive to object to being called a "sniper."

You've attributed comments to me that I didn't make.

I did NOT write the December 22 remarks. Those are NOT my words. I NEVER write under a pseudonym. NEVER. I have NEVER written a comment on my blog under another name. NEVER.

The fact that I publish your comments clearly shows that I do NOT only seek like-minded comments and feedback.
