Packers in Dallas: Frozen Tundra South

Here in Wisconsin, we're used to snow and ice.

Personally, I don't like the bitter cold and excessive snow, but I know how to cope with the conditions.

It's a different story in the south.

From WBAY:

In Dallas, the big event for Super Bowl week was Media Day on Tuesday. But getting there was an extreme challenge for the players due to another big event -- an ice storm.

Temperatures dropped like a rock, turning rain into ice. On some surfaces the ice was two to three inches thick.

Tuesday morning the Packers team buses followed a convoy of sand trucks all the way from their hotel in Irving to Cowboys Stadium in Arlington.

Once inside, the weather was the first topic of discussion for the team from the Frozen Tundra.

"Watching all the cars drive and seeing them all spin out, you know, on the road, it was crazy," Packers defensive tackle Cullen Jenkins said.

"Well, it made me feel at home, right? A little ice, some snow," Packers president/CEO Mark Murphy said. "Once you get a little farther south, they're not used to handling snow and ice."

I hope that all Packer fans making the trip to Dallas by car arrive safely.
