Protest at Scott Walker's Wauwatosa Home (Video)

The union members were out in force, protesting at Scott Walker's home in Wauwatosa.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and WISN report that about 1000 people were at the gathering.

FOX 6 puts the number at 500.

TMJ4, reliable anti-Walker "willing partner," reports that 2000 people protested outside Governor Walker's home.

About 2,000 people picketed outside Governor Scott Walker's Wauwatosa home Tuesday evening, according to an estimate organizers say they got from police.

Cars honked to show support for the crowd of union teachers worried about losing benefits and collective bargaining rights.

As the demonstration grew, officers closed the street down to control the rally.

...Amy Gutowski is a mentor in the Milwaukee Public Schools. She held a sign that read 'Stop The War On Workers.'

"I couldn't make it to Madison," Gutowski said. "I couldn't take off work. So, I wanted to make a stand and do something here in Milwaukee."

Good grief.

Why would these people descend on a residential neighborhood and close down streets?

Governor Walker wasn't at his Wauwatosa home and they knew it. His two sons, high school students, still reside in the home as they finish their school semester. They were in the home at the time of the protest. These thugs are targeting Walker's kids!

Why would this mob make neighboring residents suffer?

They claim to care about working people and their families. Oh, yes, the children. They care about the children.

They certainly didn't consider the impact of their behavior on the families and the children living near Walker's home. They don't care about Walker's sons.

I wouldn't want to be inconvenienced by hundreds of people, some of them unruly, shouting, marching in front of my home, and shutting down streets.

The mob mentality is out of line. It's out of control. It's union thug tactics.

EXTREMELY inappropriate, but not at all surprising.

Here's video of the protest, from WISN.

Targeting Walker's children and subjecting a residential neighborhood to reportedly thousands of chanting protesters is pure thuggery.

"Koch-suckers"?

Very nice.

So much for the new tone of the Left.

Walker is a douche bag. He wants to mess with the teachers, but he leaves the groups alone that donated money to his campaign? Douchbaggery and shady politics....

If you don't want the occasion to come that your neighbors and family is "inconvenienced" by protesters, then don't run for office. Sorry, it is part of what you sign up for as an elected official. I live in Walker's neighborhood and saw no thugs, nothing I would not want my children exposed to. In fact today I think I will take my kid and protest there myself. This is not about political parties, it is about what is ethical and what is right. Walker has an obligation to protect the rights of the people. If this was just about the budget, we'd be done now. But he insists on getting it ALL his way, so he can further line the pockets of the rich folks who paid for his campaign.

That's ridiculous.

The neighbors are powerless.

Should elected officials be kept out of residential areas?

Ridiculous.
