SUSAN SARANDON: What happens in Wisconsin, unfortunately or fortunately, is what's gonna signal what's happening in the rest of the United States and the world. And that's why workers all over the world are also paying attention because this is a very, very important fight. And uh, it's just so blatant and so obvious, and it has to be dealt with now. And I think that's why it resonates. Even though a lot of people here are from Wisconsin there's other people here that have come in from other states, and I know there are rallies being held all over the United States in solidarity, too. We can't forget that.
But I just wanted to come in person to say thank you, um, for everyone's work in the past and for what they're doing now. It's freezing, and it takes a lot of conviction and courage and solidarity to make this work. And it's a great opportunity that this idiot, uh, Walker has given us, to remember our strength and to remember that we are the many and they are the few. And even though they have the wealth, we have something which is as important, if not more important. And so I came just to say thank you and to remind them that we are watching, and even if the media hasn't been on top of it as much as they should have, should be, that maybe it'll wake up also.
The media hasn't been on top of this?
Where has been? She doesn't know what she's talking about.
Sarandon and her comrades are ignoring the fact that most workers in Wisconsin and across the country are not members of public employee unions.
The middle class exists in the private sector, too.
This class warfare stuff doesn't make sense. Middle class taxpayers are forced to fund the raises and benefits and pensions of public union employees while they see their wages and benefits cut.
Who's standing up for the majority of middle class workers?
Scott Walker.
