Bin Laden Raid: Changing Narrative

The White House has made a complete mess of informing the public about the death of Osama bin Laden and the raid on his compound.

The details have changed dramatically since Obama made the announcement late Sunday that bin Laden was killed.

The mission was a success.

However, the White House has failed miserably in relaying the facts about the mission effectively. It's been a total failure.

What really happened? What are we to believe?

I don't think we've arrived at the final version of events yet.

We'll have to wait for Oliver Stone to write the screenplay.

I saw this elsewhere and it struck me as funny and accurate: "Obama killed Osama. We get the 72 versions."

As apparently well-executed and professional as the actual mission was, the political handling of things by the administration has been absolutely terrible. You'd expect Biden to blather on needlessly, but the entire executive branch keeps talking...usually giving contradictory statements. Amateur hour. The only time they seem to be able to stick to "talking points" is when the subject matter involves an election

I hadn't heard that. Very funny!

(And unfortunately, too accurate.)

By giving bin Laden a Muslim burial at sea did we not legitimize what he stood for?

The Muslim burial was meant to appease the throngs in "friendly" Muslim nations, but it makes no sense.

After ten years of being lectured about bin Laden and al Qaeda hijacking the religion and distorting it and abusing it and not practicing the Islamic faith, it's odd that the U.S. would adhere to its tenets for disposing of bin Laden's body.
