Wisconsin Jobs

Check it out, Wisconsin:

Net new jobs in June in WI: 9,500. Net new jobs in June in America: 18,000.

Amazing!

Wisconsin is open for business.

Thank you, Governor Scott Walker!

When the jobs numbers came out a few days ago, my local paper (LaCrosse Tribune) buried the story - it took me a while to find it. On the front page: An old house was demolished to make room for a UWL dorm (huge accompanying picture)

Today, though, they found the jobs story important enough to put a FRONT PAGE article about the story. The headline..."Walker spun job numbers - growth elsewhere gives context to WI figures"

Politicians are always spinning information to their advantage. Not exactly front page news, in my opinion. But it fits their narrative of wanting to portray Walker in an unflattering light. Therefore it's front page news. The fact that we actually created 9500 new jobs in Wisconsin (6th most in the nation!)? Well that's not important - just bury it on page 3 of the hometown section.

I can't believe I'm still paying for that daily rag of a newspaper...but it's the only source of info for some local news.
