Alec Baldwin and Troy Davis

Alec Baldwin will be hosting Saturday Night Live this weekend for its season premiere. Baldwin will serve as host for the sixteenth time, an SNL record.

You'd think he'd be busy preparing, but he wasn't too busy to flip out on Twitter when Troy Davis, murderer of police officer Mark MacPhail, was executed last night just after 11:00 PM in Georgia.

As Noel Sheppard points out, going on Twitter to comment on the execution is not unusual.

What's odd is that Baldwin went ballistic on conservatives, like Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, and Michelle Malkin.

NewsBusters has the screen shots of Baldwin's tweets.

Yikes! That's pretty rough.

It's as if Baldwin were talking to his daughter.

I enjoy Baldwin as host of SNL. His recent appearances have been generally apolitical, with no excessive bashing of conservatives. They've been easy to watch and relatively funny.

However, when Baldwin goes on a Twitter rant like he did on Wednesday, it's hard for me to watch him perform and separate Baldwin the comic actor from Baldwin the unhinged hater of conservatives.

There's no question that Baldwin has issues controlling his anger. He can really be scary.

Troy Davis supporters call for the execution of George W. Bush.

Clearly, they don't have a problem with the death penalty. It's not capital punishment that bothers them. It's the death sentence of Troy Davis.

Video.

Oh, those wacky, inconsistent Leftists!
