Go Brewers!
From the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:
The Brewers rolled over the Arizona Diamondbacks, 9-4, and rolled to a 2-0 lead in the best-of-five National League Division Series.
The Brewers are right where they want to be, heading to Phoenix for Tuesday night's third game and a chance to close out the Diamondbacks.
But this series is far from over.
In baseball, you can't sit on a lead or run out the clock or put in a prevent defense. You have to play it out.
And the Brewers are taking nothing for granted.
"They're going to keep putting the pressure on us," Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said.
Even Sunday, the Diamondbacks displayed their grit. They chipped away against Brewers starter Zack Greinke to tie the game, 4-4, in the fifth inning, before Milwaukee erupted for five runs in the sixth.
"They're a tough team," Milwaukee catcher Jonathan Lucroy said. "They battle. They fight. They don't give up."
And the Diamondbacks are headed home, where they were 51-30 during the season.
"We have hope," said Arizona manager Kirk Gibson. "We're going to go to our environment now. We've played better at home, just as well as the Brewers have."
The Brewers also know that in a short series a two-game advantage can quickly vanish.
"Bottom line, first team to three wins," said Milwaukee third baseman Jerry Hairston Jr. "We haven't done anything yet. We've held serve here, but we've got to win three."
The Brewers remain an exuberant group, feeding off the energy of the Miller Park crowd.
Of course, the Brewers should take nothing for granted, but going into Arizona with 2 wins in the series is as good as it gets.
