Governor Rick Perry was Jay Leno's guest on Thursday's Tonight Show.
Leno was relatively respectful, maybe because he doesn't see Perry as a serious threat to Obama. Leno's somewhat noncombative manner could also be an outgrowth of the recent assault endured by Michele Bachmann on NBC, when she was a guest on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
It's possible that NBC warned Leno not to appear excessively hostile to Perry after what happened to Bachmann.
That's probably giving NBC too much credit.
By the way, what song did Ricky Minor and the Tonight Show Band play when Perry was introduced?
Here's video:
Governor Rick Perry helps Jay remember.
Part 1: Governor Rick Perry on gaffes, Herman Cain and part-time Congress.
Part 2: Governor Rick Perry on proposing a 20% flat tax and calls social security a ponzi scheme.
Part 3: Governor Rick Perry on troop withdrawal and his favorite candidates.
