SNL: Bon Iver, Justin Timberlake (Video)

Maya Rudolph, returned to Saturday Night Live as host and resurrected one of her characters, Beyonce.

Beyonce and Jay-Z, played by Jay Pharoah, were welcoming guests to their home to see their new baby, Blue Ivy.

Prince (Fred Armisen), LL Cool J (Kenan Thompson), Nicki Minaj (Nasim Pedrad), Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie (Taran Killam and Abby Elliot), and Taylor Swift (Kristen Wiig) all stopped by.

The final guest to visit was Justin Vernon of Bon Iver. Vernon was played by Justin Timberlake.

Timberlake did a funny impression, singing a modified version of "Holocene" for Blue Ivy.

Timberlake as Vernon said, "Sorry I'm late. Uh, whatever. I was just wandering barefoot in the woods of Wisconsin, fashioned this guitar out of a canoe, and I wrote a song for your baby."

Rudolph as Beyonce said, "But, Bon Iver, we were just about to put our baby to sleep."

Timberlake said, "Trust me. This will help."

He proceeded to sing. As he sang the lullaby, Beyonce and Jay-Z tried to figure out what he was saying.

Then Beyonce said, "Oh no, Bon Iver put himself to sleep."

Jay-Z and the "White Butler" (Andy Samberg) carried him out, to put him in the guest bedroom.

Beyonce said, "Sleep tight, Bon Iver."

Later, at the end of the show when the cast assembled on stage, Justin Timberlake was holding this sign:

I guess Timberlake doesn't want to start a feud with Bon Iver fans.

Knew that Grammy thing would bit Bon Iver in the rear just didn't know it would be so soon and leave such a big mark. JT must have heard it on Twitter to have bailed during the good-night.

All the "guests" in the sketch received rough treatment. Beyonce and Jay-Z, too.

It's humor. If you're in the spotlight, you have to be able to take a joke.

But do the PBR swilling hipsters understand this? Do they understand anything, for that matter.

Good question.
