Scott Walker and Tom Barrett: Dead Heat

A poll released yesterday shows Governor Scott Walker and Tom Barrett, the miserable mayor of Milwaukee, destroying the city since 2004, in a virtual dead heat.

Barring something extraordinary happening, you and I will be right here at 3 a.m. on election night, still waiting for those fateful final returns from slow-footed Waukesha County to come in and decide the state. If Barrett beats Walker, we’ll get a solid month’s worth of “tide turning against the GOP” stories in national media. If Walker holds on, a solid month’s worth of “Wisconsin doesn’t mean much” stories instead.

There's no question that the nation is watching what's happening in Wisconsin.

What we do here in the next few weeks will have national significance. Reelecting Scott Walker and keeping the state moving in the right direction will send a message to Obama and the Democrats.

We reject their Leftist policies that are stifling economic growth and creating all this misery. We don't want to grow government. We don't want to be dependent.

In short, we approve of Scott Walker's reforms because they are working.

I really don't believe Wisconsinites are going to permit Leftists to overturn the November 2010 election. Their extended, crazed hissy fit will prove to be an exercise in futility.

Barrett has been a disaster for Milwaukee. People around the state know what a mess he's made and all that he's failed to accomplish as mayor of the city. We've rejected Barrett as governor twice already, for good reason.

I look forward to it happening again on June 5th.

Wisconsin becoming like Milwaukee with Barrett at the helm should the scare the hell out of every person living in the state.
