Tommy Thompson and Jeb Bush

Now this is the sort of communication from a Wisconsin Republican primary U.S. Senate candidate that I don't mind.

It's a positive message, unlike Eric Hovde's email attacking Tommy Thompson.

Here's an email from Jeb Bush, subject line: Join Me.

Mary,

This November Americans will face critical choices about our future. Under the Obama administration, the national debt has grown to over 15 trillion dollars, and government continues to grow beyond our ability to pay for it.

Now the federal government is borrowing almost half of every dollar it spends. Democrats have advocated the government take-over of everything from health care, to banking and the auto industry. Our very freedom is at stake - freedom to work hard, play by the rules, and succeed; to save for our future and ensure the opportunity for success of our children and grandchildren.

We must elect leaders who recognize that government is not the answer. Washington, DC needs men and women who believe in entrepreneurial capitalism and are committed to ensuring that all Americans have the opportunity to succeed.

My friend Tommy Thomson - the former governor of Wisconsin - is just the kind of leader we need in our nation's capital. He believes that less government - not more - is what we need.

Today, I am asking to you to help Tommy in his campaign for the United States Senate. A Tommy Thompson win in Wisconsin could shift the majority in the U.S. Senate to Republican control.

Tommy is a proven leader. During his time as governor, he sparked a conservative revolution and delivered landmark victories for conservatives by implementing the nation's first School Choice program, cutting taxes 91 times, creating 740,000 new jobs and developing the model for welfare reform in America.

If we're going to get America back on track, we need Tommy in the U.S. Senate.

Please join me in supporting Tommy Thompson.

Sincerely,

Jeb Bush

Jeb Bush is a major endorsement for Thompson. I have a lot of respect for him.

At this point, if Eric Hovde wants to go after the other Republicans for U.S. Senate, I don't want to hear it. There will be plenty of time for the Republican candidates to take swipes at each other. That can wait until after the recall election.

The focus right now is on Scott Walker and defeating the Leftists bent on destroying the fiscal health of Wisconsin. The focus is on defending the Walker agenda, so critical for the future of our state.

This video from Hovde's campaign strikes the right note.
