On Friday, Nancy Pelosi appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
Pelosi said, "Ryan has been the author of the budget to kill Medicare, just end Medicare. And that's very unpopular."
Pelosi is lying. She completely and intentionally distorts Ryan's Medicare proposals.
On Saturday, Ryan was in Florida. He introduced his mom, Betty. She relies on Medicare.
Ryan is not throwing his beloved mom over the cliff.
Sorry, Democrats.
Betty Ryan understands that her son isn't proposing to take away health care from seniors.
I think the Democrats and Obama understand that, too.
They have to lie about Ryan's plan. They have no choice. It's the only way they can scare older Americans enough to reject Ryan. The truth is their enemy.
While Ryan discussed the Medicare issue, he also spoke of the pride he feels for his mom's accomplishments.
After Ryan's dad died, his mom went back to school, got another degree, and started a small business.
Addressing Betty Ryan, he said with great emotion, "Mom, I'm proud of you for going out and getting another degree. I'm proud of you for the small business that you created. And Mom, you did build that!"
Obama, Biden, and the other Leftists are going to have a hard time convincing reasonable Americans that Ryan, a good son, is an evil guy scheming to take away Medicare from senior citizens like his own mom.
Pelosi's anti-Ryan rant on Late Night was positively absurd.
Obama and the Democrats and their media mouthpieces sound like total loons trying to trash Ryan. They can't demagogue this issue. It won't work. Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan are talking substance. The Dems lose on substance.
Also, the Republican hand-wringers need to get a grip and grow a spine. They underestimate the American people.
