Purple Heart Day of Honor

The War Memorial Center will hold its 2nd Purple Heart Day of Honor at the War Memorial Center on August 7, 2012. Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs Secretary, John A. Scocos will be the Keynote Speaker. Purple Heart Recipient, Bill Goralski and Milwaukee County Service Veterans Officer, Jim Duff will also be part of the ceremony.

John A. Scocos was appointed the first cabinet Secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs by Governor Scott Walker. As Secretary, he is the chief advocate for over 407,000 veterans of Wisconsin. In this capacity he is responsible for the leadership and management of the Department, to include strategic and long-range planning initiatives aligning with the Department’s vision.
