Scott Walker and Mark Levin - Paul Ryan

Yesterday on his radio program, Mark Levin interviewed Gov. Scott Walker.

Levin introduced Gov. Walker, calling him "one of the greatest governors in my lifetime, no question about it."

Levin has proposed Scott Walker to be Speaker of House, because you don't have to be a member of the House to be the Speaker.

They had a lighthearted exchange about that, but Levin isn't kidding.

He said, "You've got the kind of courage and the statesmanship that I think we need a lot more of in Washington, DC."

Among other topics, they discussed Paul Ryan, Mitt Romney's selection as his vice presidential nominee.

Walker offered his insights.

He noted that they both worked at McDonald's in high school, Walker in Delavan and Ryan in Janesville. Walker told the story that Ryan used to flip burgers in the back because his manager said he didn't have the interpersonal skills to work the front cash register.

Very funny.

Walker said Ryan is brilliant and courageous, as well as a truly good, decent person.

Mentioning some other Wisconsin conservative stars, Ron Johnson and Reince Priebus, Walker said there must have been something in the water. Levin suggested we all better drink it.

Walker said he believes that Mitt Romney can win Wisconsin in November, because we want brave leaders willing to take action to solve our fiscal problems.

Levin concluded the interview by telling Walker, "You get me invigorated, and I think you do that with a lot of people. I think that's why it's important to hear from you."

After Walker had said goodbye, Levin went on, "That's a great guy. I met him in person, too. He's really a good guy. But he's a great governor, and so many people can learn from him, a lot of young people out there, you folks can learn from him. Stick by your principles. If you've thought things out, you know you're right, and you can make confident, rational arguments in support of your position; and you can if you're a conservative. You can win even in some of these liberal states. It's not like we have an alternative. That's what we have to do. We have to take it to them. That man did it, man, I'm telling you what. Courageous, tough guy."

I agree. We're fortunate to have a leader like Scott Walker as Wisconsin's governor.
