Netanyahu and Obama

UPDATE: It seems the incompetent Obama is always in damage control mode these days, with the liberal media assisting him at every turn. It's pathetic.

From CNN: White House: Obama talks with Netanyahu on Iran, no meeting sought

President Barack Obama talked with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a call Tuesday night about the threat posed by Iran's nuclear program, according to a White House statement.

Obama placed the call to Netanyahu, a senior administration official told CNN.

The one-paragraph statement from the White House, which referred to the Obama-Netanyahu discussion as "a part of their ongoing consultations," followed reports earlier in the day that the White House had rejected a request by Netanyahu to meet with Obama this month to discuss Iran's nuclear program.

CNN's Wolf Blitzer, citing Israeli sources, reported that the Israelis were told Obama's schedule would not permit a meeting even though Israel offered to have Netanyahu travel to Washington.

Obama and Netanyahu are both due to address the United Nations in New York in late September but not at the same time.

The Obama administration pushed back later Tuesday.

"Contrary to reports in the press, there was never a request for Prime Minister Netanyahu to meet with President Obama in Washington, nor was a request for a meeting ever denied," the White House said Tuesday night in its statement, which made reference to "our close cooperation on Iran and other security issues."

Let's see. Do I believe Obama's story or Netanyahu's version?

That's easy.

______________

So the White House claims that everything is cool with Netanyahu.

From the BBC:

The White House has denied that President Barack Obama refused to meet Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu in New this month, amid tensions over Iran.

Mr Netanyahu's team had asked for talks during the UN General Assembly in New York, but US officials said Mr Obama's schedule would not allow it.

That's a load.

Is Obama scheduled to be on The View?

He should make time to meet Netanyahu.

...Earlier, Mr Netanyahu criticised the US for not being tough enough on Iran over its nuclear programme.

Western countries believe Iran is trying to develop a nuclear weapon - a claim that Tehran denies.

US officials said the president and Mr Netanyahu were in "frequent contact" and said the Israeli leader would meet Secretary of State Hillary Clinton instead.

Mr Obama - who is in the middle of an election campaign - is due to speak at the UN General Assembly in New York on 25 September, while Mr Netanyahu will give an address on 28 September.

"They're simply not in the city at the same time," White House spokesman Tommy Vietor said.

The announcement came after Mr Netanyahu made remarks condemning other countries for failing to draw up "red lines" over Iran.

"The world tells Israel: Wait, there's still time. And I say: wait for what? Wait until when?," he told a news conference in Jerusalem with Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov.

"Those in the international community who refuse to put red lines before Iran don't have a moral right to place a red light before Israel," he added.

...Israel's Haaretz newspaper described the prime minister's comments as "an unprecedented verbal attack on the US government", on its website.

Washington argues that deadlines are counterproductive and wants to allow more time for diplomacy and sanctions to take effect.

Deadlines are "counterproductive"?

Really?

Obama was just bragging about his Afghanistan deadline.

Is a deadline only productive in retreat?

I don't know what we're still doing in Afghanistan anyway.

The fact is Iran and Irsael is not a matter that can wait to accommodate Obama's campaign fundraising schedule.

Obama should understand that he's president first and a candidate second.

Obama is putting his reelection schedule ahead of his duties as president. He has time to appear on Late Show with David Letterman, but he just can't make time for Netanyahu, with Israel and Iran are on the brink of war.

That's unacceptable.

The way Obama has treated Israel, including the Democrat platform "Jerusalem" debacle, is unacceptable.

I guess Obama really is a lot like Jimmy Carter. I'm not saying Obama is an anti-Semite, like Carter; but Obama does have a problem with Israel. He shares some of Carter's despicable views.

That reminds me: Los Angeles Times, RELEASE THE VIDEO OF OBAMA AND RASHID KHALIDI.

That whole "Jerusalem" platform thing makes sense now, doesn't it?

Shameful.
