School Lunch and Michelle Obama

I am sick of Michelle Obama and the federal government meddling in what we CHOOSE to feed our children.

I am sick of Obama, the imperial president, mandating his whims.

I have no problem with Michelle stressing the importance of eating healthy foods and exercising.

However, I have a big problem with advice becoming regulations that require schools across the country to comply.

Kids have different dietary needs.

What really is odd is the way the cut backs hurt children from poorer families more, given the role the public schools play in feeding America's kids. Children from poor families can't go home and gorge themselves after school.

This certainly puts student athletes from poor families at a disadvantage. If they're not getting enough calories at school, they're not going to make up for that loss at home.

That is the major point of these federal breakfast and lunch programs at schools, right? Providing food to those children who would go hungry without the school meals.

Parents can't afford to feed their kids so the taxpayers need to pick up the entire tab or some of it, right?

The skimpy meals run counter to the purpose of seeing to the nutritional needs of students. These "one size fits all" regulations are nuts.

Michelle and the feds are keeping food from the poor kids, and taking away CHOICE from the kids who aren't dependent on the schools for their daily diet.

Don't tread on our food.

Is that too much to ask?
