Voter Fraud Billboards - Milwaukee

VOTER SUPPRESSION IN MILWAUKEE!

I heard about this story listening to Charlie Sykes this morning.

Democrats, union members, and other Leftsts are claiming minority neighborhoods in Milwaukee are being targeted with a billboard campaign they claim threatens people.

I thought it was odd, since one of those billboards, supposedly directed at minorities in Milwaukee's inner city, is on Port Washington Road in Ozaukee County just north of Highway C.

That is NOT even close to being a Milwaukee inner city minority neighborhood. This is not an African-American or Hispanic area.

VOTER SUPPRESSION IN OZAUKEE COUNTY!!!

Whites are being targeted!!!

When I first saw the billboard, I liked it. It's a good reminder to all that it's a felony to screw with the voting process. I want my vote to count. I want clean, fair elections.

Nonetheless, the narrative from the Obama coalition is that the billboards are targeting minorities.

Lib queen bee Rachel Maddow is spreading the word.

These fools don't seem to realize that the billboard campaign is not a minority thing.

From the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:

Billboards posted in low-income and minority areas throughout the city that warn "Voter Fraud is a Felony" are another attempt at voter suppression and should be taken down, several community groups said Monday.

"Clear Channel, take these billboards down," said Mike Wilder, director of the African-American Round Table, as others chanted in agreement.

Clear Chanel Outdoor is the advertising company that owns the billboards.

The billboard states that it's paid for by "a private family foundation."

Wilder said he's counted about 20 of these billboards in the African-American and Latino communities.

In addition to warning about voter fraud, the sign adds that the penalty for voter fraud is "Up to 3½ years and $10,000 fine."

"Voter rights are under attack every which way possible," Wilder and others said, adding that a new state law requiring voters to show photo identification was halted in the courts.

The billboards are similar to ones posted in the fall of 2010 in advance of the November elections.

"This is the same anti-voter garbage from 2010," said Scot Ross, executive director of the Institute for One Wisconsin, a liberal special-interest group. "Wisconsin knows the only real fraud is partisans who attack the franchise to further their political goals."

Nathan Conrad, communications director for the Republican Party of Wisconsin, said the party "takes election fraud and voter integrity very seriously. However we have no connection to the billboards in question put up by a private citizen."

"We want Clean Channel to act responsibly and the replace these billboards with information to inform voters and give them information on how to vote," said Jennifer Epps-Addison, of the liberal group Citizen Action of Wisconsin. "These billboards are meant to confuse and scare voters."
What a load!

These billboards don't confuse or scare voters.

If voters are too stupid to understand that voting fraudulently is a crime, then they certainly aren't capable of making an informed choice at the polls.

Does it confuse or scare people when billboards remind people not to drive drunk?

Does it confuse or scare people when signs warn people to slow down in construction zones or face steep fines?

Give me a break!

...Jim Cullinan, vice president of corporate communications for Clear Channel Outdoor, said in an email that 85 billboards contain the message, and that they will not be taken down.

He said the billboards are not only in the African-American and Hispanic areas, but also throughout the Milwaukee area.
That's absolutely true.

I object to the tactics of intimidation by these groups demanding that the billboards be taken down.

Apparently, they have a problem with the truth. They have a problem with free speech.

Maybe if Democrat Donovan Riley, a white guy and 2006 state senate candidate, wouldn't have voted twice if he had seen the billboard.

Not much has been made about this story: DNC fires Obama campaign staffer for assisting voter fraud attempt.

It seems that the public needs to understand that tampering with our elections is a serious crime.

I'm all for suppressing crime.
