Summer Solstice 2013

Today is the Summer Solstice.

The summer solstice occurs when the sun is positioned at it's furthest northern position from the Earth's equator. During the day of the summer solstice, locations north of the equator see their most minutes of daylight for the year.
Right now, 12:04 AM CDT, it's officially summer.

I don't want to hear that from this point forward we're now losing hours of daylight, sliding toward the darkness of winter. Talk about seeing the glass half empty!

Summerfest starts in a few days. The festival season will be in full swing soon.

Ah, Summer!
