The weather for opening day of the 2013 Wisconsin State Fair was perfect.
Crowds were large but not to the point that getting around became difficult.
Overall, it was a great time.
If there were problems, I saw none. I saw no mob violence like the sort that occurred in 2011.
It was an all-around pleasant experience.
A change this year: Herb Kohl's Milk House has returned to the south end of the grounds. Instead of being on the north end near the midway, it's across from the south side of the grandstand, a much better location.
The new Milk House is big on the Bucks, now that Herb is out of the Senate.
Around 3:30 yesterday afternoon, Bucks Coach Larry Drew was at the Milk House, meeting fairgoers and posing for photos.
Also hanging at the Milk House was Bucks owner Herb Kohl.
Sitting on the bench next to "Bango," Kohl really didn't stand out. He doesn't look like a former U.S. senator or the owner of an NBA team or a rich guy.
