Iowans for Animal Liberation Vandalize Butter Cow

This destroys the image of a vegan as being a peaceful person incapable of hurting a fly.

Vegans can be violent.

What the crazed vegan activists at the Iowa State Fair did really ticks me off. Being Wisconsin-born, I love cows and butter and the State Fair.

The defacing of Iowa's butter cow makes me sick.

From FOX News:

An animal welfare group intent on sending a message in support of veganism hid until closing time then poured red paint over the Iowa State Fair's butter cow. But the damage was quickly scraped away and visitors never knew the iconic sculpture had been damaged.

Iowans for Animal Liberation claimed responsibility for the attack in a news release emailed Sunday night, saying members hid in the cavernous Agriculture Building on Saturday night and emerged after the fair closed for the day. They then broke into a refrigerated room where the sculpted cow and other butter sculptures are displayed and poured red paint over the cow.

The words "Freedom for all" were scrawled on a display window.

"The paint represents the blood of 11 billion animals murdered each year in slaughterhouses, egg farms, and dairies," the group said in the statement. "We intend this action to serve as a wake up call to all who continue to consume meat, dairy, eggs, leather, and all animal products: You are directly supporting suffering and misery on the largest scale the world has ever known."

Iowa State Patrol Sgt. Scott Bright said Monday that fair staffers discovered the damage Sunday morning. A sculptor scraped off damaged sections of the cow and reapplied new butter while other workers cleaned off paint elsewhere in the room.

...The cow, which is made with about 600 pounds of butter covering a wood and metal frame, has been a part of the fair since 1911. The butter is reused for up to 10 years.
Bright described the vandalism as "more of an inconvenience than anything else."

He's right from the standpoint that the vegan thugs didn't win. However, it was an inconvenience that fair staffers should not have had to endure.

The vegan thugs threw a hissy fit. Their "Freedom for all" message scrawled on the display window shows just how childish and idiotic they are.

Iowans for Animal Liberation say in their statement justifying their vandalism of the butter cow, "You are directly supporting suffering and misery on the largest scale the world has ever known."

What twisted buffoons!

Animals in the wild attack, kill, and eat other animals.

Do vegans have a problem with that "suffering and misery," which has been a part of life on this planet since life was on this planet?

It's all so ridiculous.

The vegan thugs have a right to their beliefs. They have the right to express their beliefs. They do not have the right to vandalize property.

Truth/Fiction, Right/Wrong, Good/Bad, Alive/Dead, Heaven/Hell, Us/THEM. The dichotomy people, such as this, use to separate themselves from others and to define their lives and morals is, I think, quite a good statement in re how vandalizing a piece of Artwork can make a ‘statement’ concerning the treatment of live animals “murdered each year”.
Perhaps they could learn the differences in another grouping; Animate/Inanimate. Or perhaps between Organic/Inorganic. Definitely betwixt Sculpture/Model posing for said sculpture.

Why so much hate? Hate crimes don't create "wake up calls" they create hate.

The actions by this group only show they have no morals. To afraid to stand up and announce in a human like manner their position for their cause. They choose to hide who they are. All I say is. LIVE WELL......EAT MEAT!!!!!!!
