Did you know The McLaughlin Group was still on TV?
It is still on the air.
A positively absurd statement by Leftist Eleanor Clift, a regular panelist on the program, has brought The McLaughlin Group back into the spotlight.
Clift's claims about the 9/11/12 terrorist attack in Benghazi and the death of Ambassador Chris Stevens were outrageous.
Here's video:
Transcript from RealClearPolitics:
ELEANOR CLIFT: I would like to point out Ambassador Stevens was not murdered. He died of smoke inhalation in the safe room in that CIA installation.Oh, my God!
SUSAN FERRECHIO: I don't think that's a fact, Eleanor.
CLIFT: I think that is a fact.
FERRECHIO: I've heard a drastically different story from people who are also in the know about that. So, I don't think it is --
PAT BUCHANAN: It was a terrorist attack, Eleanor. He was murdered in a terrorist attack.
CLIFT: It was an opportunistic terrorist attack that grew out of that video.
BUCHANAN: The video had nothing to do with it.
CLIFT: There were demonstrations across the world.
To me, the Leftists' attempt to spin what happened in Benghazi and cover up the truth is the clearest indication of how extreme they've become. They will stop at nothing to prop up Obama and the other Leftists.
We lost four Americans in a terrorist attack on the 11th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attack on the United States. We've received no adequate answers about the cover-up by the Obama administration, no acceptable explanations for the lies Obama and his flunkies told the American people.
Clift continues to blame the video. She has the audacity to say Chris Stevens was "not murdered."
Truly disgraceful.

Well, "murder" is a legal term. Just like when people claim abortion is "murder." No. It isn't. Murder is illegal killing. Abortion is legal. So it is not "murder." RE: the Stevens killing? I don't know what the proper term would be. Is every death in war a murder? I don't know. But I think I know where Clift is coming from. We lefties, we sticklers for accuracy.
As far as abortion goes, it depends on the lexicon. In terms of legal jargon, you're right. Slaughtering the unborn is legal. In terms of the law, it's not murder. Russ Feingold and Obama have argued that even infants born alive during a botched abortion can be killed without it being considered murder.
Regarding Benghazi, Clift was still saying the video was responsible for the terrorist attack. That is absurd.
It was a mistake for her to go there. And you have to admit, it wasn't a good idea for her to insist that the death of Amb. Stevens shouldn't be considered murder. It's not like Clift was arguing his death should be called an act of war.
Stevens died directly because of the terrorist attack. Period.
