Ebola: Contamination

Remember this?

JESSE PINKMAN: When you say it's contamination, I mean, I'm thinking like a, like an Ebola leak or something.

WALTER WHITE: Ebola...

JESSE: Yeah, it's a disease on the Discovery Channel, where all your intestines sort of just slip right out of your butt.

WALT: Thank you. I know what Ebola is.

JESSE: Uh huh.

WALT: Now tell me, what would a west African virus be doing in our lab? Hmm?

JESSE: So, you're chasing around a fly, and in your world, I'm the idiot.

The good old days-- when a hazmat suit was used for cooking meth.

What's insane is that our government is not stopping people from countries with raging Ebola epidemics from entering the U.S. before being certain they are no threat to Americans.

Is the goal an Ebola pandemic?

That appears to be the case.

The protocol is in place - Contamination for Dummies.

OBAMA: Yes we can!

Why should the government be solving this problem. Shouldn't the market sort it all out?

You're joking, right?

Of course, the government needs to put appropriate measures in place to deal with this potential pandemic.

I expect the private sector will be the source of treatments and vaccines for Ebola. Go "market"!

However, when it comes to the public health, government's role is required to contain this deadly infectious disease.

There are things the government must do. (I don't expect "the market" to defeat ISIS.)

Funny that many Leftists, like Obama, want to control how much ketchup our kids eat but they won't do crap when it comes to controlling Ebola.

Frieden won't let people have a large soda, but bring in deadly infectious disease? Have at it.

No, I'm pretty sure the standard conservative response is "the market will take care of it." The hospital market should have already seen the potential (I mean come on, they've had 30 years) threat, and I'm sure the airline industry has been planning for this given the almost-certainty. What? You're suddenly a big government gal?

You really don't understand?

The market plays a role in the functioning of our society and the government plays a role.

In the case of Ebola in the U.S., Obama and his administration have screwed up royally.

I'm not a "big government gal" at all.
