Meg Kissinger: Michelle Obama, Mary Burke Event

Mary Burke's campaign is getting some national attention, but not in a good way.

According to Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reporter Meg Kissinger, things got a little weird at Burke's event featuring Michelle Obama in Milwaukee on Monday.

People around the country need to know that the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel is openly hostile to Governor Scott Walker. It's a propaganda rag for Democrats and Leftists.

So, it is a bit unusual for Kissinger to be making the waves that she is.

Apparently, this little move by a White House aide left Kissinger really ticked off.

A Milwaukee reporter is claiming that journalists covering first lady Michelle Obama’s speech at a campaign rally for Wisconsin Democratic gubernatorial candidate Mary Burke were told not to speak with the crowd at the event.

Meg Kissinger, a reporter for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, posted on Facebook that she was “creeped out” after she was told by a White House aide and an aide for Burke not to speak with people attending the Monday event.

“This is what reporters do in America: we speak to people,” she wrote. “At least that's how I've been doing things -- at all kinds of political events -- since 1979.”

Kissinger added in the comments on another post that she had “never seen anything like it in 35 years as a reporter covering dozens of political events.”

Kissinger later said on Twitter that she did not comply with the aides’ rule, and spoke with “plenty” of crowd members.

It is insane that a White House aide would instruct journalists covering Michelle Obama's speech to not speak with people in attendance.

What is that?

It's especially goofy given that supporters of Mary Burke and the Obamas would have been at the event.

There is no way that a White House aide should be dictating rules like that to the journalists. No free press in Obama's America?

Good grief.

Wouldn't you think that even the Leftists would find these tactics by the Obama White House completely out of line?

Michelle Obama will be back in Wisconsin on Tuesday, this time in Madison to campaign for Mary Burke.

Will reporters be told not to talk to the crowd again?
