Matt Lauer and Jimmy Fallon

Matt Lauer was a guest on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday.

I remember this hilarious video from Today.

In 2005, NBC News reporter Michelle Kosinski was paddling a canoe through floodwaters in Wayne, New Jersey, looking to be risking life and limb, until some guys strolled in front of her, walking through water only up to their ankles.

Busted!

Still makes me laugh.

The only thing that would have made that better would be if Brian Williams had been in the canoe instead of Kosinski.

To their credit Lauer and Katie Couric did acknowledge the embarrassment.

And, it should be noted that seemingly shallow floodwaters can be treacherous.

That said, don't believe the liberal media.
