Facebook and Conservatives

According to former Facebook employees, conservative content was censored on the social media site.

From the Christian Science Monitor:

Several former Facebook employees who worked as contractors overseeing the 'trending news' section told Gizmodo they removed stories of possible interest to conservative users and 'injected' others.

Facebook's algorithm – which controls what users see in the site's news feed – is routinely criticized as opaque, making it difficult to know exactly how the site influences what its users see.

But former Facebook workers say they frequently suppressed news stories that involved conservative figures or those that might be of interest to conservative readers, tech site Gizmodo reports, adding more fuel to an argument that the social media site's impact on how we consume news isn't all benign.

Several former "news curators" for Facebook told Gizmodo that their actions often stopped stories about the Conservative Political Action Conference, Mitt Romney, Sen. Rand Paul (R) of Kentucky and others from appearing in the trending news section, even if many users were viewing and sharing them on the site.
It's no secret that media outlets are biased.

So what else is new?

I would be shocked to learn that Facebook wasn't engaging in efforts to block conservatives.

Same old, same old.

I'm so sick of it all.

I don't really care anymore.

Total burnout.
