Mike Pence went to see Hamilton on Broadway Friday night.
He was subjected to boos and a lecture from the cast. In short, he was treated disrespectfully. That doesn't sound like a pleasant evening at the theater to me.
After the performance, during the curtain call, Brandon Victor Dixon, the actor who plays Aaron Burr, gave a statement on behalf of the cast.
BRANDON VICTOR DIXON: Thank you so much for joining us tonight. You know, we have a guest in the audience this evening. Vice President-elect Pence, I see you're walking out, but I hope you will hear us, just a few more moments.Good grief!
[Some boos.]
There's nothing to boo here, ladies and gentlemen. There's nothing to boo here. We're all here sharing a story of love. We have a little message for you, sir, and we hope that you will hear us out. And I encourage everybody to pull out your phones and tweet and post because this message needs to be spread far and wide. OK?
Vice President-elect Pence, we welcome you and we truly thank you for joining us here at Hamilton: An American Musical. We really do.
We, sir, we are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious that your new administration will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents, or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights, sir.
But we truly hope that this show has inspired you to uphold our American values, and to work on behalf of all of us. All of us.
Again, we truly thank you for sharing this show, this wonderful American story told by a diverse group of men and women of different colors, creeds, and orientations.
These people are nuts.
CNN considered it BREAKING NEWS!
"Hamilton" cast directly addresses Mike Pence: "We are the diverse America who are alarmed and anxious" https://t.co/AnSuIo1brl pic.twitter.com/BIhsFtpw21

Hamilton is a fantastic show. It's a shame that the cast thought it was appropriate to call out Mike Pence like that.
They're "alarmed and anxious" that the new administration "will not protect us, our planet, our children, our parents, or defend us and uphold our inalienable rights."
What are they talking about?
Do these people really think that the Constitution and the law are going to be tossed aside come January 20, 2017?
If that's what they think, then they are seriously delusional.
Obviously, Dixon's suggestion that people tweet and post the cast's statement reeks of self-importance. Ooh, they did something really special, dissing the next president and vice president of the United States!
Naturally, the Leftists are loving it. If they consider this some sort of great victory, well, good for them.
In terms of Dixon's comments about drawing "inspiration" from the story, someone should let the cast know that Alexander Hamilton was instrumental in creating the Electoral College system. Hamilton was the likely author of Federalist No. 68, arguing for the Electoral College to be used in selecting the president.
Get inspired, cast of Hamilton. Read The Federalist Papers.
And by the way, Hillary Clinton lost the election, but at least you can enjoy your special Hamilton moment. Savor it, if it makes you happy.
