John Oliver: Anti-Trump Tirade - 'Not Normal'

It's official. Leftists have lost their minds.

Their reaction to the election of Donald Trump is plain bizarre.

It's so over-the-top.

John Oliver provides a perfect example.

From Variety:

“Last Week Tonight” host John Oliver took the extraordinary step of urging viewers on-air to donate to Planned Parenthood, the NAACP Legal Defense Fund, the Trevor Project and other organizations serving communities that may come under fire during the Trump administration.

The host of “Last Week Tonight” was fiery in the show’s third season finale Sunday, warning viewers in the most dire terms about what he sees as the threat to the nation now that Republican Donald Trump has won the presidential race.

“How the f— did we get here?” Oliver said.

Oliver urged viewers to donate to various non-profit orgs, including the Mexican-American Legal Defense Fund, the International Refugee Assistance Project, the Center for Reproductive Rights and the Natural Resources Defense Counsel. He also implored viewers to support top-tier journalism by subscriber to a major newspaper, or donating to the non-profit journalism collective or Pro Publica in order to help news outlets scrutinize Trump’s moves.
From The Daily Beast:
“It is going to be too easy for things to start feeling normal—especially if you are someone who is not directly impacted by his actions—so keep reminding yourself: This is not normal,” he said. “Write it on a Post-It note and stick it on your refrigerator, hire a skywriter once a month, tattoo it on your ass, because a Klan-backed misogynist internet troll is going to be delivering the next State of the Union address, and that is not normal. It is FUCKED UP.”

Democrats/Leftists are lauding Oliver for his remarks. Perhaps some Never Trump people are doing the same.

It's a page out of Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals.

Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, polarize it. Don’t try to attack abstract corporations or bureaucracies. Identify a responsible individual. Ignore attempts to shift or spread the blame.
Oliver describes Trump as evil incarnate, personalized. Oliver polarizes. He declares war against Trump, screaming that the sky is falling.

These people need to get a grip.

Their reaction to this election is "not normal."

Really.

It can't be explained as a run-of-the-mill hissy fit. They're more than sore losers. They are mentally unbalanced.

Having seen tons of Facebook posts--with no signs of stopping--my liberal friends seem (1) despondent that so many voters were willing to overlook Trump's white male identity politics and (2) fearful that minorities are going to be persecuted. Failure to grasp this either means you're truly deplorable or you're lucky enough to use your white privilege to put your head in the sand. Note that all of this is hysterical obsession over social issues, not the guy's fitness for the presidency, or lack thereof. Me? I think the gravity of the office is finally hitting him and he'll at least try to give it the sober attitude it deserves. At least that's what the last half week looked like.

The fear of persecution is nuts. The Leftists going berserk have lost touch with reality. Persecuting minorities is illegal and will stay illegal.

Many on the Right went nuts as well. A conservative local radio talk show host said he believed Trump would literally destroy the economy and literally start a nuclear war. The guy spoke hysterically and now looks like a complete fool.

In terms of Trump's "white male identity politics," voters of every race, ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, and gender voted for Trump. His message resonated. The Left-wing media were exposed as DNC hacks. The widespread Clinton corruption was front and center. Failure to grasp that probably has something to do with Hillary's loss and the rejection of Democrats in House and Senate races, and the rejection of Democrats on the state level as well. When Hillary went out there and used her "basket of deplorables" rhetoric, I knew she was in trouble.

Your head is in the sand if you are unable to realize how mocked, mischaracterized, marginalized, and persecuted some American citizens, like blue collar workers and individuals wanting to freely practice their faith, all those voiceless "little guys," have felt.

Of course, Trump understands the weight of being president. Like him or not, he's not stupid.
