Elvis Costello on SNL: Radio Radio - 39 Years Ago

Thirty-nine years ago today, Elvis Costello and the Attractions appeared on Saturday Night Live after the Sex Pistols, scheduled to appear, were forced to cancel due a problem with obtaining visas.

Lorne Michaels expected Costello to play "Less Than Zero," but Costello decided to play "Radio Radio" instead. Michaels was not happy. Because of the stunt, Costello was banned from SNL for over a decade.

Elvis Costello on SNL: Radio Radio - 39 Years Ago
