Judd Apatow: Rape and Trump's Election

Is it funny to declare that Donald Trump's election felt like being raped?

Judd Apatow, successful Hollywood producer, writer, and director, thinks so.

Last Saturday, when Apatow did stand-up at the Regent Theater in Los Angeles, he joked about rape and murder and Trump, making some truly ugly comments.

From the Daily Beast:

[Judd Apatow] spent the majority of his set tearing into President Donald Trump—most forcefully in the disturbing analogy he used as his opener. When Trump was elected, Apatow said, he felt like “a person about to get raped, but I didn’t know how bad it would be.” Now that Trump is president, he added, “I feel like I’ve just been raped and I just don’t know if I’m going to get murdered.”
According to Apatow, Trump being elected president feels like getting raped and then wondering about getting murdered.

I haven't heard any outcry over this from women's groups, no complaints about Apatow's exploitation of sexual assault victims to trash Trump.

Apparently, this is all OK. He's not going to lose any movie deals over this. People won't be running away from Apatow, afraid to be associated with a person like him. Actually, his vocal Trump hate may boost his career to even greater heights. He may be rewarded for his insensitivity to people traumatized by this violent crime.

Soon, he had moved on to the First Family, including Melania Trump, who has refused to even move into the White House. “That’s pretty bad,” he said. “I mean, think about it: Hillary Clinton didn’t move out of the White House and her husband got a blowjob in it.” As for Melania, he said he “understands” why she’s staying away. “Every day she’s not in the White House is a day she’s not getting fucked by Donald Trump,” Apatow said. “Wouldn’t you stay away?”

Apatow even included a few jokes about Barron Trump, a risky move that got Saturday Night Live writer Katie Rich suspended from the show last month. But unlike that controversial tweet, Apatow’s joke was not at the 10-year-old Trump’s expense.

“He fucking gets it,” Apatow said of the president’s youngest son. “You ever see the look on his face when Trump’s talking?” he asked, imitating the aloof expression. “People are like, ‘Is there something wrong with him?’ No! He knows his dad’s a fucking asshole!”

The attacks by Leftists like Apatow on Melania Trump and Barron are really despicable.

Can you imagine the outrage there would have been if a conservative comedian made such comments about Michelle and Sasha Obama?

The abuse the new First Family is taking is off the charts.

On a bill that also included Holmes and Artie Lange, Apatow more than held his own, delivering the most consistently funny set of the night.

...“When you start out as a comedian, you’re not good,” Apatow told The Daily Beast in a recent interview. “You realize that if you stick with it and you’re talented, you will get good, but you don’t know if it’s going to happen in six months or five years.”

Well, three decades after he set out to become a great stand-up comedian, no one could deny that he has achieved his goal.

I can deny that. Apatow hasn't achieved his goal to become a great stand-up comedian.

It's not great stand-up to equate the absolute horror of rape with the outcome of a presidential election.

Where are the sexual assault victim advocates? Why aren't they demanding an apology from Apatow?

It's not great stand-up to refer to First Lady Melania and her relationship with the president in such a crude, disgusting manner.

Why aren't groups like NOW or self-proclaimed feminists objecting to the way Melania is being objectified and degraded?

It's not great stand-up to say a 10-year-old boy knows his father is a "f---ing a--hole."

Why isn't Barron off limits, like Chelsea Clinton or Malia and Sasha Obama?

Apatow delivered some really sickening stuff that some consider entertaining.

I think the worst part is Apatow wasn't going for laughs in his set. He was going for the jugular. He was dead serious. And his L.A. audience approved.
