Trump and Merkel and Wiretapping

From the Wall Street Journal:
President Donald Trump on Friday dug in on his unsubstantiated claim that his phones were tapped by his predecessor and brushed off the controversy ignited by the White House’s citation of a news report alleging British intelligence was involved.

Mr. Trump, asked about the citation in a news conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, quipped: “As far as wiretapping by this past administration, at least we have something in common, perhaps.” It was a reference to the National Security Agency’s surveillance of Ms. Merkel’s phone, which was disclosed in 2013.

Funny.
