Bill O'Reilly Fired

Bill O'Reilly lost his job at FOX News.

Here's the text of the internal memo sent to FOX News employees:

Colleagues,

We'd like to address questions about Bill O'Reilly's future at Fox News. After a thorough and careful review of allegations against him, the Company and Bill O'Reilly have agreed that Mr. O'Reilly will not return to the Fox News Channel.

This decision follows an extensive review done in collaboration with outside counsel.

By ratings standards, Bill O'Reilly is one of the most accomplished TV personalities in the history of cable news. In fact, his success by any measure is indisputable. Fox News has demonstrated again and again the strength of its talent bench. We have full confidence that the network will continue to be a powerhouse in cable news.

Lastly, and most importantly, we want to underscore our consistent commitment to fostering a work environment built on the values of trust and respect.

Best,

Rupert
Lachlan
James

Here's a statement from O'Reilly:

I was not a member of The O'Reilly Factor audience. FOX News canning him has no impact on me in terms of my TV viewing habits.

I haven't followed the details of O'Reilly's behavior and the allegations, but without question, sexual harassment is unacceptable in the workplace.

What bothers me about the firing is the double standard that we see again and again when it comes to conservatives.

I won't defend O'Reilly's behavior. However, I don't like that a liberal could probably get away with this sort of sexual harassment.

It's been nearly twenty years since Leftists defended Bill Clinton. Even today, he's no pariah. He's embraced by the Left. He's embraced by the Bush family!

The list of Leftist sexual abusers is long. Ted Kennedy was involved in a young woman's death and he survived politically. He's considered a hero by the Left.

Anthony Weiner didn't survive his scandal, probably because of the underage stuff, the many photos Weiner himself supplied, and his refusal to stop his reckless behavior after he was given another chance. He's an exception though.

I don't like that the Left succeeded in getting O'Reilly off the air. But in the end, O'Reilly must take responsibility for his downfall.
