'Roseanne' Reboot

The return of Roseanne was a resounding ratings success.

However, some expressed discomfort with the Roseanne character's support of Donald Trump. Some found the political stuff to be "triggering."

Thank you to everyone who watched Roseanne. I know the political stuff was a bit triggering for some (myself included) but I’m glad y’all got that the show holds a mirror up to what’s happening-it’s not ya having an agenda. That said-no more episodes talk about politics :)

Whitney Cummings is one of the show's executive producers, so she should know.

I think it's funny that she acknowledges that the politics may have been triggering for some. She provides reassurance that "no more episodes talk about politics."

Leftists are whining about the show because the protagonist is a Trump supporter. This one show is apparently too much for them to bear. Hilarious!

Conservatives are always attacked and belittled by the entertainment industry. Every late night talk show assaults Trump and his supporters every night. It's relentless. One show comes along that breaks that pattern and the Leftists can't handle it. They don't want to see any positive portrayal of a Trump voter.

I think the show is important from the standpoint that it demands recognition that all Trump supporters are not deplorable. They're tolerant and loving members of families.

That's something many Leftists and other Trump haters refuse to accept.
