A Fresno State English professor has generated a social media controversy after her tweets following the death of former First Lady Barbara Bush.
Randa Jarrar tweeted out, "Barbara Bush was a generous and smart and amazing racist who, along with her husband, raised a war criminal. (expletive) outta here with your nice words."
...Fresno State President Joseph Castro sent out a statement late Tuesday saying, "On behalf of Fresno State, I extend my deepest condolences to the Bush family on the loss of our former First Lady, Barbara Bush.
We share the deep concerns expressed by others over the personal comments made today by Professor Randa Jarrar, a professor in the English Department at Fresno State. Her statements were made as a private citizen, not as a representative of Fresno State.
Professor Jarrar's expressed personal views and commentary are obviously contrary to the core values of our University, which include respect and empathy for individuals with divergent points of view, and a sincere commitment to mutual understanding and progress."

Stunning utilization of English in those awful tweets by that professor. Absolutely, down right concerning.
Occasionally every person has a boiling point and forgets about their positions and their words. That is one good thing that makes us all Americans a person's opinion without being persecuted or even executed like in many countries.
What do you think the left's reaction would be if Hillary Clinton passed away and, within hours of her death, a conservative college professor tweeted, "The witch is dead", and that the thought of the Clinton family's suffering made him/her "happy"...?
You know EXACTLY what would happen...
It would be around the clock news on every media outlet, and there would be riots on that college's campus, demanding that professor's dismissal.
And this is what disgusting America hating people we let into into our country, do. Love the well known terrorist smagh she wears too. Great work Fresno State. Wont be sending my child or $$$$$$s to your institution. I recommend others do the same.
As an American, I have lots of rights. Like standing at your funeral and holding up a sign that says,"God hates fags." So is that ok too, or would you just brush it off as an occasional boiling point to be tolerated under the 1st Amendment? I don't think so. You're tolerance of this disgusting women does not personify American values. Rather, it says so much of what is wrong with you and our culture which has graduated to a seething level of hatred, which will eventually "boil" over, and we will see persecution like you've never dreamed. That is what your kind of tolerance will eventually come too.
I can not believe this person is allowed to teach
Free speech usually comes with responsibilities and repercussions. Tenure allows these nasty leftist professors to run their mouths with no responsibility or repercussions. Where else but academia do you get this kind of latitude? I would be interested to know how her students are treated? Do they have to tow her line or be punished with poor grades? My guess would be yes. We need to demand better.

I'm shocked that people aligned "liberal", "leftist", "Progressive" with this terrible person. The people who grouped this woman with a political group in the United States reveal much about THEIR OWN CHARACTER FLAWS. THEY ARE DOING EXACTLY WHAT THIS SPAWNS GUM HAS DONE.
One would hope that an English professor could complete a proper sentence structure using the appropriate punctuation. (“outta here with your nice words.”); spell simple words correctly (outta?) and have a variety of decent adjectives at her disposal besides the “f****ing” word. This person is a major embarrassment for Fresno University. Since she thinks that America’s farmers are stupid she can grow her own food. Do you really want to eat something produced by stupid people? If you grow your own food you will be too tired to dwell on things that make you hate; too tired to spew your special kind of hate and too tired to bother the rest of us. By the way, one day you too will grieve for a loved one and face death yourself just like the rest of us.
