The maker of Ambien, a godawful drug, decided to weigh in on the Roseanne Barr mess.
People of all races, religions and nationalities work at Sanofi every day to improve the lives of people around the world. While all pharmaceutical treatments have side effects, racism is not a known side effect of any Sanofi medication.

What a stupid, stupid tweet!
Not funny. Not clever. Just stupid.
Given how messed up people's lives get on Ambien, it's disgusting that the drug company would think it appropriate to knock a patient that way.
I obviously don't know if Roseanne Barr was actually using Ambien when she posted the tweet that would result in the cancellation of her hit show. That's irrelevant. Sanofi mocked all those that took the medication and suffered ill effects.
The drug company mocking Roseanne for her mental illness while they drug a generation is a new low! @SanofiUS https://t.co/KBLYeg2kDi https://t.co/70m5vNliAi https://t.co/K4jsCTvxKf

AMBIEN SIDE EFFECTS @SanofiUS
— MATT DRUDGE (@DRUDGE) May 30, 2018
Rapid heartbeat
Vomiting
Diarrhea
Impaired vision
Slow breathing
Memory loss
Disorientation
Depression, suicidal thoughts
Anxiety
Insomnia
Nightmares
Confusion
Dizziness

Addiction
Withdrawal, which can be life-threatening
I hope all the bad press prompts patients to refuse Ambien prescriptions. That drug should be removed from the market.

Another stupid tweet:
The name Ambien is thought to come from the word "ambient" or similar words in French. Ambient does not mean "prone to making racist comments," but it does mean "of the surrounding area or environment." https://t.co/UpYY5eKzIo https://t.co/XsPn8FthV5
