Are people flocking to tweet their outrage about wardrobe matters after a day at the waterpark or the beach?

It's a societal thing. In the United States, women do not go topless in public.

One can argue whether that should be the case, but it is the standard in our society.

So, Levine was able to perform with his shirt off. It wasn't socially inappropriate.

Duh.
