It took well over 24 hours before Tony Evers got around to honoring Officer Matthew Rittner by ordering flags in Wisconsin flown at half-staff.
It appears he was shamed into the move by radio talk show host Mark Belling.
This is Wisconsin in the post-Scott Walker era.
Today, I ordered flags to be flown at half-staff in honor of Officer Matthew Rittner, of the Milwaukee Police Department, who died in the line of duty yesterday. I join the people of Wisconsin to mourn the loss of a life dedicated to public service. pic.twitter.com/HS612WKohS
