My heart goes out to the family, friends, and colleagues of Officer Brian Sicknick. They're experiencing a very personal loss that can be forgotten when a funeral is a nationally televised event.
My heart also goes out to all the family, friends, and colleagues of every member of law enforcement killed in the line of duty, those not given the sort of attention received by Officer Sicknick. I hope every politician, media outlet, entertainer, and professional athlete involved in inciting violence and hatred against the police and those giving support to groups whose mission it is to attack these dedicated brave men and women reflect on the insidiousness of their demonization of the police.
