Worse Than Watergate

On his Tuesday radio program, Mark Belling highlighted this piece by Charles Hurt, "What Obama and his political Choom Gang did is far worse than Watergate."

It's very powerful.

At the end of all the scandal and drama, all of the breathlessly reported lies and false accusations, at the end of all the money wasted on some zany kabuki swamp dance choreographed to the thrumming of giant bullfrogs and yipping of excited coyotes — at the end of all of this — it comes down to precisely what we said it was a year and a half ago.

The Obama administration — with or without the knowledge and direction of President Obama himself — perverted one of the most powerful, clandestine spying operations in the world and used it at the very height of a presidential campaign to spy on political opponents, punish them and, ultimately, silence them through extortion.

If this was orchestrated without the express knowledge of Mr. Obama, then it reveals just how blatantly he instructed by example the weaponizing of the entire federal government to carry out his low, dishonest and unjust ideology. By any means necessary, one might say. Only instead of being driving by visions of justice, these people were driven by visions of undying power.

If this conspiracy was carried out at the express direction of Mr. Obama or other high officials in his administration, then they belong in jail. From unmasking of political opponents, to leaking their names to the press, to killing legitimate investigations, to launching politically motivated witch hunts, a racket of this scale could not have been carried out without some major juice and cover at the top levels of the Department of Justice, FBI and the White House.

The rogue henchmen carrying out the dirty work, as always, presented as perfect, decent and most honest little Boy Scouts like former FBI Director James B. Comey.

What the Obama administration did to infiltrate the Trump campaign, spy on political opponents and then launch a wicked vendetta against them is worse than anything J. Edgar Hoover ever did — at least that we know about.

It is worse than any of the domestic abuses by the CIA during the Cold War.

It is worse even than what the federal government did to undermine civil rights activists like Martin Luther King Jr.

As bad and corrupt as it is to harass innocent citizens under any circumstances, it is so much worse to weaponize the government to pursue and punish and eliminate domestic political opponents. That is the sort of thing that destroys a Republic.

And yes, it is even much worse than Watergate. At the end of the day, Watergate was a bungled break-in by low-level political hacks. And then it was about the political cover-up and how high it went.

What happened under Mr. Obama is the stuff of Third-World dictators.

When Donald Trump was running for president, establishment Republicans and Democrats alike ran around thumping their chests feigning outrage that Mr. Trump would not be capable of respecting the Constitution.

At that time, the Obama administration was spying on Mr. Trump and his campaign and carrying out the most extensive and brazen undercover espionage-war campaign against political opponents that we have ever seen.

All the while nary a peep from these same smarmy swamp creatures as Mr. Obama rolled the constitution into joints so he and his political Choom Gang could smoke bales of weed.

At some point, the Democrats and Never Trumpers are going to have to acknowledge the truth. They are going to have to admit the abuse of power that occurred while Obama was president and the abuse of power that has occurred since Trump's election.

I expect the Democrats to pretend this scandal didn't happen. I expect them to spin and lie.

However, it's the reaction of the Never Trumpers that really astounds me. They are ignoring what is arguably the biggest political scandal in our nation's history.

Evelyn Farkas Outs Obama Spying, Leaking

Evelyn Farkas, deputy assistant secretary at the Pentagon for Obama, revealed on MSNBC that the Obama administration plotted to undermine the Trump administration.

She made these comments on March 2, 2017.

They came to light during this last week of March because, of course, no one watches MSNBC.

It was more actually aimed at telling the Hill people, 'Get as much information as you can, get as much intelligence as you can before President Obama leaves the administration.' Because I had a fear that somehow that information would disappear with the senior people who left.

So, it would be hidden away in the bureaucracy that the Trump folks, if they found out how we knew what we knew about their, the staff, the Trump staff's dealing with Russians, that they would try to compromise those the sources and methods, meaning we would no longer have access to that intelligence. So, I became very worried because not enough was coming out into the open, and I knew that there was more. We have very good intelligence on Russia. So, then I had talked to some of my former colleagues and I knew that they were trying to also help get information to the Hill. That's why you have the leaking. People are worried.

An Obama administration official, Evelyn Farkas, admits that they engaged in an effort to share the "intelligence" they had to compromise, and hopefully destroy, the Trump presidency. She explains all the leaking.

Obama Golfs 150th Round

Obama's arrogance knows no bounds.

He doesn't seem to care that spending hours on the golf course is thoroughly inappropriate given the state of the country. He doesn't seem to care how his life of privilege and leisure looks to Americans suffering under his economy and his ObamaCare debacle and his general abuse of power.

President Obama’s approval ratings may be stuck in a sand trap, but that has not deterred him from sticking to his weekly round of golf.

After teeing off Saturday at the private course in Florida where the movie “Caddyshack” was filmed, Mr. Obama hit the milestone number of 150 golf rounds in less than five years in the White House.

The Secret Service loaded Mr. Obama’s golf bag emblazoned with the presidential seal into the motorcade Saturday morning to head to the private Grande Oaks Golf Club in Davie. Sporting a blue polo shirt, tan slacks and a cap, Mr. Obama spent five hours on the private course with former NBA star Alonzo Mourning, friend Cyrus Walker and former U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk.

Mr. Obama wasn’t much of a golfer before he ran for president. His regularity on the greens started April 26, 2009. He played 27 times that first year in office, including seven rounds during his vacations on Martha’s Vineyard and Hawaii.

In his second year as president, Mr. Obama played a little more — 30 rounds. He included a woman for only the second time when Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius joined on Oct. 10, 2010.

...The president played even more in his third year in office — 34 rounds. Throughout his presidency, he has most frequently used courses at nearby Andrews Air Force Base and Fort Belvoir.

...Mr. Obama put aside his weekly golf outings several times while running for re-election in 2012. His annual total fell to 19 rounds, seven of which were in the two months after he won a second term.

Never having to run for office again has given Mr. Obama a free pass to spend every weekend on the golf course. So far in 2013, he already has passed his 2011 record with a total of 39 rounds of golf, as of today. This includes his whopping 27 holes played in one day at Andrews Air Force Base on Sept. 14.

That's amazing. By the 45th week of the year, Obama managed to play 39 rounds.

This golfing habit reinforces his air of detachment from the responsibilities of the presidency. It's as if he doesn't really want to do the work of the president. It appears he just wants to wallow in the perks that come with being a celebrity.

Obama claims he didn't know about Benghazi or the harassing of conservatives by the IRS or the utter inadequacies of the ObamaCare website or the NSA spying on our allies. Don't blame him. He didn't know. He was too busy being cool.

Obama really is a terrible president.

He should stay off the golf course and devote his time to keeping his promises.

On July 27, 2013, Obama reiterated his vow/lie to the American people:

That's a lie.

I suppose Obama and his hacks could argue that he isn't resting when he's playing golf, but that would be a ridiculous stretch.

I think it boils down to this: Obama has extremely loyal followers so enamored with their hero/savior that they excuse even his most despicable statements and behavior. And, NO ONE is more enamored with Obama than Obama.
